 How to use Apple pay on Mac- A guide for those new to Apple pay

Whether you’re using Apple pay on the web or in an app, the process is generally the same and only takes a few steps to set up. If you’re new to Apple pay, this step-by-step guide will help you get started!

Use your watch

To complete the process, you will also need your watch which doubles as a credit card. To do this, start by opening up Wallet and go to the Add Credit or Debit Card section. Once there, press the green + button next to Apple Pay. This will automatically open up your Passbook app and ask you to add a card. You can now take a photo of your card or enter in all of the information manually before confirming.

Use iPhone X

To start with, you will need an iPhone X running iOS 11 or newer. You may also want to download the latest version of iTunes from the App Store. 

Make sure that your Mac is not in sleep mode and that it’s connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, simply open up iTunes and go to the iTunes Store. If you are using a browser, make sure that you have cookies enabled.

Use iPad

The first step is to set up your device for Apple Pay. To do this, go to the Settings app on your iOS device and scroll down until you see Passwords & Accounts. Then select Apple Pay. Tap add a card if you haven’t already, and then sign in with your information. After doing this, hold the iPad near the contactless reader as though you were going to make a purchase.

Use MacBook Pro/Air

Apple Pay is a mobile payment system that lets you make purchases by simply tapping your phone on an NFC reader. It was first introduced by Apple in September 2014 with the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The latest release of OS X El Capitan (10.11) includes a built-in NFC chip, which means you can now use your Mac to make payments at certain retailers and online stores where contactless payments are accepted.
