There are two ways you can do this: by using Android’s built-in security features or by installing third-party software to encrypt files and hide files without rooting your phone. Why Hiding or Deactivating isn’t enough

Hiding or deactivating an app is not a good enough solution because the person you want to hide it from can just go into the settings and find it again. You want a more permanent solution that prevents them from accessing the app even if they know how to find it.

Step 1: Go through your list of installed apps and find what you want to hide

If you’re looking for a way to hide certain apps on an Android phone without rooting, it’s actually quite simple. In order to do so, go through your list of installed apps and find what you want to hide. For example, if you don’t want people snooping through your Facebook app, simply delete the app from your phone and then go into Settings > Apps and select show system apps. From here, scroll down until you see the Facebook app and click on it.

Step 4: Navigate back one page to App Info Page for the app you want hidden

The app you want to hide is now selected, so click the Hide button. You’ll see a confirmation page that reads: This will remove the icon from the app drawer and prevent it from appearing on any home screens. To continue, tap OK. If you change your mind, tap Cancel at any time.

 Once a phone has been locked down with these settings in place, no one will be able to access anything on the phone without first knowing the password for it.
